Info for Athletes

During the athletes 16U season, they should develop a list of 100 schools of various sizes in division. Players should talk with their family about important factors such as size of school, location with in the US, and roster size. Athletes should look up rosters to see how they match up to current players in height/weight/vertical. Players should make this list in a document or spread sheet.

MAVS athletes 15 & up have access to a Sports Recruits profile provided by MAVS. This profile should be completed by the athlete and family and maintained throughout the season. Athletes should utilize their Hudl video account that is provided by MAVS to create highlight videos that accentuate their best skills. These videos should be uploaded to Sports Recruits after every major tournament. 

Beginning at their 16U season, athletes should send introductory emails either in private emails or through their Sports Recruits Account. The introductory email should consist of the athlete's full name, high school, club team, and primary position. Athletes should keep the emails short and sweet and include update video.

If it is after June 15th of your Sophomore year, the coach can email you directly and let you know if they are interested. This is based on your grad year, position and brief evaluation of your profile & video as well as their needs for that class.
If it is before June 15th of your Sophomore year, the coach can not email you back. They might email your coach or coordinator Coach Brown to express "general interest". They will watch you LIVE (possibly several times) to watch your development and progress. They can send you questionnaires, camp invites or non athletic publications.

- Coaches will then EVALUATE YOU (through your HS or CLUB season or possibly at CAMP)

Athletes will need to continue to communicate with College Coaches
Our recommendation is 1x a month with updates from tournaments, high school season, summer vacations, etc...
