2026-2027 Tryout Information

We’re thrilled that you’re interested in joining the MoCo MAVS family. Our tryouts are designed to identify passionate players who are eager to grow their skills, build lasting friendships, and embrace the values of teamwork, commitment, and sportsmanship. At MoCo MAVS, we believe in creating a positive, inclusive environment where every athlete has the opportunity to reach their full potential on and off the court. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to competitive volleyball, we invite you to showcase your talent and become part of our mission to inspire and uplift each player through the game of volleyball. Dates:

June 23rd- 10, 11, 12 Tryouts

June 24th- 13s & 14s Tryouts

July 2nd - 15s & 16s Tryouts*****

July 5th - 17s & 18s Tryouts

****if either 16 Red or 16 White qualify this date will change to June 29th to allow our coaching staff to be present for their age group tryout

July 6- 15 & 16 Makeups

July 7- 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 Makeups

Register

MoCo MAVS club season tryouts for 2026-27 will open for registration April 15. Early Registration runs from April 15- June 15. Early registration is $75 and is non refundable. Late registration starts June 16th and is $85. Late registration fees are non refundable.

Age Definitions

USAV age definitions will be posted at a later date. A good rule of thumb is to register for the age your daughter will turn between July 1, 2026 and July 1, 2027.

Attend a pre-tryout Clinic

Are you thinking about making the switch to MAVS? The best way to talk to our coaches is to attend a pre-tryout clinic. If you are an outside hitter or a libero/DS it is very hard to make a team 15s & up. The best way to get on our radar before tryouts is for us to get to know you through clinics.

Libero Tryout 2026-2027

All age groups 15U & Up will have a libero tryout one hour before regularly scheduled tryout time. We have an abundance of liberos sign up for tryouts, and we have want to make sure to allow those liberos to leave and try out at other clubs if they are not in our top 10. If they are outside of our top 10 for their age group, we will release them after the first hour.

How to navigate the tryout process if you are new to the club?

Attend a pre-tryout clinic
Contact us via email, social media, or in person about your interest
Ask questions about our club and coaches so that you know what to expect
No team offers will be made until after the athlete has completed a tryout
Talk to us at a camp, clinic, or tournament to ask questions and express interest
Understand where you fall on the USAV age definition chart, some athletes can play in more than one age group
What if I can't make a tryout date? Athletes should be prepared to tryout on the tryout date. No positions will be "held" or promised to be available after the original tryout date.

Who are the team coaches?

What if I can't make the tryout for my age group?

Make every effort to be at as many pre tryout clinics as possible so that coaches can get to know you. Early tryouts make team placement difficult because of our inability to compare you to athletes who are at tryouts in person.
We historically do not do early or private tryouts. We believe the best policy is to see athletes side by side against their peers in a tryout setting. If you can not make tryouts, you need to set up a make up tryout for after our original tryout date.
